Questions To Ask The Sales Department At A Hotel

Before you block hotel rooms for your wedding guests, here are some questions to ask.

Go in person - sales managers are busy people - it's best to make an appointment.
They work Monday through Friday, so you might have to take an afternoon and go
speak with them.
Know approx. how many rooms on each night you'll need, and if you'll need a room
the next day for breakfast/gift opening.

Questions to Ask:
- What happens if we do not fill up our whole block? Do we get charged? (YOU
SHOULD NOT GET CHARGED BUT SOME HOTELS DO. RUN AWAY FROM THAT HOTEL!!!)
- Does the room rate include breakfast?
- Does your hotel have a complimentary shuttle that will take our guests to our
location and pick them up at the end of the night?
- If we want to book the shuttle for us exclusively - does that cost us money?
What amount?
- Do you have a free "honeymoon suite" or room for the bride and groom with XX
number of rooms blocked?
- Can you block our guests near each other?
- Do you allow us to drop of OOT gift bags/information to be given out at check
in?
- What rate can you offer - for king rooms, rooms with 2 beds, and suites if they
have them.
- Do you have an online code for our guests, or do they call the hotel directly?
You should not have to guarantee a room block with a credit card, though there
will be a contract to sign. Make sure you get everything promised in writing!
